Punar Vivah is the story of both life of Yash and Aarthi just after a second marriage. The series starts with Aarthi (Kratika Sengar) dancing in the sangeet ceremony of Mansi's marriage (her friend).
Aarthi is a divorcee, she is currently lives with her family, Ansh, her son, Shobha (her mother-in-law) and Satyendra Dubey (her father-in-law).
A wealthy women named Vimala arrives there and is impressed seeing Aarthi doing her work. She is impressed with the way she cooks, handles the children and decides to marry Aarthi to her son without knowing that she is a divorcee.
But after knowing it she insults Aarthi of deceiving her and curses her that she will never get married again. Shobha comes to Aarthi's aid and vows to remarry Aarthi to a fit person.
